The scholarship was named for Towfic after he won the 2013 Most Valuable Professors Competition, hosted by Questia. He will be part of the team that selects the scholarship recipients.
College students throughout the country were asked to nominate their favorite professor, beginning March 28. George Towfic was nominated by a Clarke student who took one of his computer science courses. Towfic was one of more than 100 professors who were nominated before three were selected in online polling.
Questia is an online commercial digital library of books and articles with an academic orientation, with a particular emphasis on books and journal articles in the humanities and social sciences.
