Clarke to Host DAVA Youth Gathering
The Dubuque Area Vocation Association Youth Gathering will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center on the Clarke University campus.More than 500 students from schools in the Dubuque Archdiocese are expected to attend. The event, scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m., is free and open to the public.The keynote speaker will be Jesse Manibusan, who will present the message, “Faith on Fire.” Manibusan is a Catholic lay evangelizer who uses music, comedy and stories to connect with people. He recently emceed the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis. Manibusan, who lives in Pacifica, Calif., with his wife and two daughters, has spent most of his life serving as a music minister and youth minister in various parishes in the Diocese of Oakland.
