Clarke also Named 17 Best College in Midwest
Today, U.S. News & World Report released their annual ranking of the nation’s colleges and universities (), which featured Clarke University in two of their key categories. The ranking for evaluates schools that, according to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education “focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience.” Among the 12 states and 72 schools within the Midwest region, Clarke University was ranked 17 overall.
Another key listing was the ranking for , which assesses a school’s academic quality along with its net cost of attendance. In this category Clarke University ranked even higher by being named as the tenth best school in the Midwest. One important component in this measurement is the number of students receiving need-based grants. In 2011, 88 percent of Clarke students received such grants, the second highest in the Midwest region.
Tom Farley, executive director of marketing & communication at Clarke University underscored the significance of these rankings. “In today’s higher education environment, universities can no longer be content at just being the best, they much also demonstrate they are worth it.”
