Clarke University Campus is Closed Monday, March 16.

Campus Community,   

Due to the forecasted inclement weather and to allow extra travel time as students return from spring break, the Clarke University campus will be closed on Monday, March 16. All classes and events are canceled. 

Faculty and staff are excused from work, however, essential employees should report to campus unless otherwise advised by their supervisor.    

Hours of Operation  

Café 1843 will open 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 for dinner service. 

On Monday, March 16, the Dining Hall will operate for lunch from 11:15 a.m-1 p.m. Café 1843 will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m., with the grill available from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.

The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

The Kehl Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Practices are canceled except for teams with competition the next day.

During a Winter Weather Emergency, limit travel as much as possible. If you should need to go out, be sure to travel slowly, and dress in layers to stay dry and warm. 

Snow Emergency Parking in the City of Dubuque will be enforced. Those parking on Clarke Drive should move their vehicle to a parking lot to allow city crews to remove snow and avoid receiving a ticket or being towed.

Statement of Ethics

The Clarke University Financial Aid Office is committed to providing excellent service to Clarke students. Ethics play an integral part in service, so a statement of ethics has been developed to communicate our actions with our student population, as well as the general public.

The Clarke University Financial Aid Office (or employees thereof) pledge:

  • To protect the borrower’s choice of lenders;
  • To base lists of preferred, recommended, or suggested lenders solely on the best interests of the student or parent borrower, considering factors such as interest rates, fees, and loan benefits provided by the lender to the borrower;
  • To not request or accept any payments or benefits of any kind from a lender in exchange for being included on a preferred or recommended lender list or in exchange for the school recommending the lender to its students or parents;
  • To clearly and fully disclose to students and parents the criteria and process used to select the lenders for preferred, recommended, or suggested lender lists;
  • To ensure that employees of lenders who make loans to students or their parents do not identify themselves as employees of the institution of higher education and that employees or agents of a lender, servicer, or guaranty agency do not work in or provide staffing to an institution’s financial aid office unless they do so at fair market value; and
  • To ensure that the institution’s employees will not receive any gift, including travel gifts, of more than nominal value from any lender, servicer, or guaranty agency.
