Sister Helen Prejean
'Dead Man Walking'

Sister Helen Prejean is the author and real-life subject of the book “Dead Man Walking” which in 1996, was made into an award-winning major motion picture about her prison ministry and work with death row inmates. Fifteen years after beginning her crusade, the Roman Catholic Sister has witnessed five executions in Louisiana and today educates the public about the death penalty by lecturing, organizing and writing. She continues to counsel not only inmates on death row, but the families of murder victims as well. She will speak on campus in advance of Clarke’s production of “Dead Man Walking” from February 23-26.

Thompson Square finished 2011 as Billboard’s #1 New Country Artist in terms of its single (Hot 100) and album sales (Hot 200) charts. The duo was also named Mediabase’s New Country Artist of the Year, in terms of radio airplay.
