Clarke Grad Named Senior H.S. Volleyball Coach

By Clarke News  |  June 18, 2013

Clarke University graduate Dan Tringale has been named Dubuque Senior High School’s new volleyball coach, pending Dubuque school board approval at its July meeting.

Tringale, class of 2013, played libero on the Clarke men’s volleyball team. He also the varsity assistant and sophomore coach at Cascade High School while playing for Clarke.

Tringale played on three state championship teams during his prep career in St. Louis, where he also competed on a club team that placed third nationally in tournament play.

“That’s what really interested us,” said Senior Activities Director Brent Cook told the Telegraph Herald. “He has a great deal of background knowledge as a player in high school, in club, which is so important for kids today, and playing collegiately. He also has some coaching experience and there aren’t many recent college graduates that already have that.”

Cook said there were five candidates for the varsity job and three were interviewed. He said Tringale already is organizing the team’s summer open gym schedule.
