Clarke MSN Program Receives Highest Possible 10-Year Accreditation

By Clarke News  |  April 12, 2006

Clarke College is pleased to announce that the College’s master of science in nursing (MSN) program was recently awarded a full 10-year accreditation by the Council of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) with no areas of concern.

“Clarke has long been a leader in educating the highest-quality nurses at both the undergraduate and graduate level,” said Clarke College President Catherine Dunn, BVM, Ph.D. “This continued full accreditation of our graduate nursing program by the CCNE reinforces the outstanding value of a graduate nursing degree from Clarke.”

Clarke’s MSN program is designed for licensed, registered nurses who graduated from an accredited baccalaureate nursing program. The program offers master’s level specialization areas as family nurse practitioner, nurse educator or administrator of nursing systems. Clarke’s nursing department has a 10:1 student:faculty ratio, which means students are guaranteed one-on-one time with expert professors. Most courses in the program are offered in blended on-line formats to meet the needs of the working professionals.

Depending on the specialty selected, the program requires 37 to 45 credit hours. The program may be completed in two academic years of full-time study, but part-time study is possible. Individuals interested in full-time study may be required to begin study during a specific semester to complete the program in two years. A post-master’s certificate in the family nurse practitioner specialty is offered, as well as a master’s completion option for certified advanced nurse practitioners.
