Clarke Students Come Together for Half Day of Service

By Rinn Mitchell  |  October 27, 2026

Dubuque, Iowa – On Saturday, October 24, Clarke students, faculty, and staff went “Into the Streets” for a morning of service.

Under the direction of Clarke Campus Ministry, 50 students and staff volunteered their time and talents at eight organizations throughout the area, including Friends of Dubuque Parks, New Hope Farm, Mary’s Inn, Dubuque and Jackson Counties Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Dubuque Regional Humane Society, Camp Albrecht Acres, National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, and Hills & Dales.

“I am so grateful for the work our students put into this event,” said Director of Campus Ministry Rick Rupprecht. “We live our Clarke core values every day, and this is a powerful way to share those values with the greater community.”

This year’s volunteers included members of the Women’s Soccer, Men’s Lacrosse, and Men’s Volleyball teams. Employees from the Haas Administration area also participated as a team for the first time.

“Into the Streets” is Clarke’s largest service event of the year and has been a tradition at the university for more than 20 years. Through this annual event, students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to live out Clarke’s core values of charity and justice while learning more about the Dubuque community and supporting local nonprofit organizations.
