Athletics

Cuttie Mascot Performer, 2 positions
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per Week:  4-5

Purpose of Job:
Perform as Cuttie the athletic mascot during athletic games

Duties & Responsibilities:
Wear mascot costume and entertain crowd and kids.

Job Qualifications:
Must enjoy and interact with the crowd.

Wage: $20/hr.

Purpose of Job: Assist in Food Service preparation.

Duties & Responsibilities: Cooking, Sanitation & Customer Service.

Wage: $8.00/hr.

Note:  Student workers receive a free meal during their work shift.

Communications

The Crux Digital Manager, 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall / Spring
Hours Per Week, 2

Purpose of Job:
To maintain the WordPress site and other technology for the Crux.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive the prioritization for the building of technology infrastructure , manage all related IT functionality for inclusion of student media’s digital presence.

Job Qualifications:
Proficient in Computer and other media technology.

Wage: $8.00/hr.

The Crux Marketing Manager, 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall / Spring

Purpose of Job:
Serve as leader managing and directing the Crux.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
With Clarke’s Student Media Advisory Board create content, motivate other to create content, editing, curating students contributions, editorializing, appealing for contributor and other decision making according with the position

The Crux Editor in Chief, 1 position

Hours Per Week:  2

Purpose of Job:
Managing and Directing the Crux Media Club.

Duties & Responsibilities:
In consultation with Clarke’s Student Media Advisory Board, creating content, motivate other to create content, editing, curating students contributions, editorializing and other tasks related with the job.

Job Qualifications:
Critical and creative thinking, problem solving, computer literacy and the ability to work in teams.

Purpose of Job: To assist the Dining Services Department in serving our guests needs in the Dining Hall.

Duties & Responsibilities: Serving on hot line, ware washing, and food preparation.

Job Qualifications: Must be reliable and hard working.

Education / Community Service Learning

School Tutoring / Teacher Assistant, multiple positions
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per week:  varies

Purpose of Job:
To provide teacher and student support in local schools.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with students in elementary, middle school, or high school. Duties include, but not limited to: tutoring and general classroom teacher assistance.
Students must be professional and reliable.  Students will need to have transportation to area schools or walk to schools close to Clarke.

Job Qualifications:
Preference of education students with experience working with children.

Wage:  $10/hr.

Engagement and Intercultural Programs

Cultural Specialist, 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours Per Week:  8-10

Purpose of Job:
To complete tasks and projects for the Student Life and Engagement and Intercultural Programs Offices.To complete tasks and projects for the Student Life and Engagement and Intercultural Programs Offices.  Assist students to be better connected and engaged in the Clarke University community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain office hours in the Multicultural Center.
  • Assist in office, which may include public relations outreach, crafting, administrative duties, and being present at programs.
  • Assist with program development and implementation of campus-wide programming and events, with an emphasis on diversity and leadership-centered programming.
  • Develop and maintain a catalog of campus and community resources and businesses, which support multicultural identities and initiatives.
  • Maintain student life bulletin boards and social media sites.
  • Serve on the campus Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (as schedule allows).
  • Contribute to the mentorship of International students with adjustment to U.S. culture.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be a current, full-time Clarke University student in good standing.

Institute for Professional Excellence

Student Assistant, 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per Week: 5-6

Purpose of Job:

Provide support to Clarke University’s new Institute for Professional Excellence (including the CareerPLUS program) and staff the welcome desk in the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning (formerly known as the Compass and Career Services Office).

This position provides support to Clarke University’s Institute for Professional Excellence and CareerPLUS program. This position also staffs the welcome desk in the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Greet persons entering the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning
• Manage inquiries related to the CareerPLUS program and the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning
• Answer telephone, screen and direct calls, provide information to callers, take and relay messages
• Set up appointments in Outlook for Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning staff
• Tidy and maintain the reception area
• Assist in Institute for Professional Excellence marketing and communication efforts (proofread marketing materials, provide feedback on marketing materials and CareerPLUS website, and assist in creating content for newsletter, blog posts, social media posts, etc.)
• Assist in communicating updates about the Institute’s CareerPLUS program to the campus community
• Provide feedback and ideas related to the Institute for Professional Excellence and/or CareerPLUS program
• Perform administrative duties related to the Institute (i.e. copying, researching ideas and or data related to competitors in the Workforce Education market, creating instructional guides/resources for the Institute, etc.)
• Operate basic office equipment (printer, scanner, etc.)

 

Job Qualifications:

• Attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy.
• Self-Motivated and desire to take initiative.
