Admissions

Tour Guide: 3 positions
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per week: Varying depending on how many tours you take per week.

Purpose of Job:
To provide campus tours of Clarke University primarily to prospective students and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Give tours to prospective students and their families, faculty and staff members interviewing on campus, and to large groups visiting campus from high schools.
• Responsible for knowledge of basic facts of the university, as well as tips, tricks and stories learned in training.
• Create an unforgettable experience for those visiting Clarke while on tour.

Job Qualifications:
• Have a positive attitude, great energy, be dependable and possess top notch customer service skills.
• Be in at least your second year of college at Clarke University.

  • Be available and flexible for a minimum of 5 tours during the academic year. Each tour is approximately an hour long. Tours are given Monday-Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM and Saturday’s from 9:00AM-Noon.
    • Strong communications skills required.
  • Ability to be a great story teller preferred.

Admissions Marketing Intern: 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring

Purpose of Job:
To provide campus tours of Clarke University primarily to prospective students and their families.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Generate ideas for Clarke’s admission social media and organize student social media takeovers.
  • Analyze admissions data in Slate and communicate trends.
  • Compile Clarke data for third party education sites.
  • Draft copy and share student-to-student ideas and campaigns.
  • Review college websites, emails, and social media; and storyboard examples.
  • Assist with admissions mailings.
  • Various duties as assigned.

Admissions Intern: 2 Position

Purpose of Job:

To assist the Admissions Office in completing essential day to day operations specifically in efforts to recruit prospective students to Clarke University.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in scheduling and hosting both on campus and virtual visits

  • Assist in sending out admission letters to students
  • Send communications to prospective students and families
  • Keep admissions office stocked with all materials needed

Graduate Student Intern: 1 Position
Time Frame: Fall/Spring
Hours per week: 10-15 per week

Purpose of Job: Support the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission in day-to-day operations to recruit prospective graduate students to Clarke University.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hosting both on-campus and virtual visits for prospective graduate students and provide an unforgettable tour of Clarke’s campus.
  • Be knowledgeable and communicate effectively basic facts of the university, graduate programs, and share your experience of what life is like as a Clarke graduate student.
  • Assist with graduate student events.
  • Communicate with prospective graduate student inquiries and applicants.
  • Support with graduate mailings and social media postings.
  • Assist in sending out admission letters to prospective graduate students.

Athletics

Cuttie Mascot Performer, 2 positions
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per Week:  4-5

Purpose of Job:
Perform as Cuttie the athletic mascot during athletic games

Duties & Responsibilities:
Wear mascot costume and entertain crowd and kids.

Job Qualifications:
Must enjoy and interact with the crowd.

Football Statisticians, 2 positions
Time Frame:  Fall Only
Hours per week:  4 hours per home game

Purpose of Job:
Keep statistics for all home football games.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of the stat crew for all home football games. Will spot and call out plays as they happen to computer operator.

Job Qualifications:
Have good knowledge of the game of football.  Previous experience keeping football statistics preferred.

Wage:  $10.00/hr.

Lacrosse Statistician, 2 positions
Timeframe:  Spring Only
Hours per Week:  2 hours per game

Purpose of Job:
Compile lacrosse stats for all men’s and women’s home lacrosse games.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Student will serve as a spotter and will learn in-game stat program.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge of lacrosse. Willing to learn in-game stat program.

Purpose of Job:
Serve as a member of the stat crew and assist the sports information office in the compiling of official statistics at Clarke home athletic events.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Students will be trained to keep live in-game statistics on a laptop using Dakstats and/or Stat Crew scoring software. Students will also be trained to be callers for the statistician inputting the game stats on a laptop.

Job Qualifications:
General knowledge of the sport or sports that the applicant is applying for.

Purpose of Job: Assist in Food Service preparation.

Note:  Student workers receive a free meal during their work shift.

Campus Ministry

Prayer Life Assistant, 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per Week: 10

Purpose of Job:
The Campus Ministry Prayer Life Student Worker coordinates and facilitates Campus Ministry prayer and liturgical experiences on campus.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Specific duties could include (but are not limited to):
• Create liturgical minister serving schedule for Campus Masses and contact lit mins with reminders.
• Prepare music binders for Music leader / student group for all campus Masses each week.
• Set-up for / be present at weekly faith events when possible: such as Holy Hours, Group Rosaries, and Sunday Campus Masses.
• Help Director organize the fall and spring Busy Person’s Retreats.
• Keep appropriate records (events, attendance, etc.).
• Welcome people who call/visit office; take and deliver messages; fill snacks bins and lite cleaning of lounge; and other general office tasks as requested.
• Participate in a 60 minute, weekly team meeting (as part of your total hours) involving a group check-in / spiritual development, and agenda about campus ministry updates and discussions of events, projects, policies, changes in the department.
• Invite people to Campus Ministry events/activities via digital and personal invitation.

Job Qualifications:
• Must be a current, full-time Clarke University student in good standing.
• Must be supportive of Campus Ministry’s mission of walking with students in their faith journeys.

Campus Store Assistant, 1 position

Purpose of Job:  To work in the Whitlow Campus Store and also the Brew and Gold Coffee Corner on game nights and Saturdays.

Students Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff and public as they come into the store.
  • Complete transactions with customer using a point of sale system
  • Make coffee and energy drinks upon request.
  • Ability to make money transactions and change for the customers.

School Tutoring / Teacher Assistant, multiple positions

Purpose of Job:
To provide teacher and student support in local schools.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with students in elementary, middle school, or high school. Duties include, but not limited to: tutoring and general classroom teacher assistance.
Students must be professional and reliable.  Students will need to have transportation to area schools or walk to schools close to Clarke.

Preference of education students with experience working with children.

Engagement Specialist, 1 position

Purpose of Job:
The Engagement Specialist provides enthusiastic support for student engagement on campus through various tasks and responsibilities. The purpose of this position is to assist students in being better connected and engaged in the Clarke community.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Promote campus events by creating and posting marketing materials and maintaining social media sites for Engagement & Intercultural Programs; assist with implementation of campus-wide programming and events; support student organizations through creation and promotion of resource documentation; promote commuter student engagement.

Event Manager, 4 positions

Purpose of Job:
This unique student employment position combines a leadership position in the Clarke Activities Board, including campus event planning and implementation, along with office hours and management of the Student Activity Center Information Center (ID Room).

Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and implement events designed to build community and engagement among students at Clarke through active participation in the Clarke Activities Board; maintain campus traditions for a student experience that is unique to being a member of the Pride; create a clean and welcoming environment in the Student Activity Center; provide oversight to the Information Room including checking out Game Room equipment and printing Clarke ID cards.

Institute for Professional Excellence

Student Assistant, 1 position
Time Frame:  Fall/Spring
Hours per Week: 5-6

Purpose of Job:

Provide support to Clarke University’s new Institute for Professional Excellence (including the CareerPLUS program) and staff the welcome desk in the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning (formerly known as the Compass and Career Services Office).

This position provides support to Clarke University’s Institute for Professional Excellence and CareerPLUS program. This position also staffs the welcome desk in the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Greet persons entering the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning
• Manage inquiries related to the CareerPLUS program and the Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning
• Answer telephone, screen and direct calls, provide information to callers, take and relay messages
• Set up appointments in Outlook for Center for Career, Compass, and Lifelong Learning staff
• Tidy and maintain the reception area
• Assist in Institute for Professional Excellence marketing and communication efforts (proofread marketing materials, provide feedback on marketing materials and CareerPLUS website, and assist in creating content for newsletter, blog posts, social media posts, etc.)
• Assist in communicating updates about the Institute’s CareerPLUS program to the campus community
• Provide feedback and ideas related to the Institute for Professional Excellence and/or CareerPLUS program
• Perform administrative duties related to the Institute (i.e. copying, researching ideas and or data related to competitors in the Workforce Education market, creating instructional guides/resources for the Institute, etc.)

Work at the Welcome Desk and be friendly, professional and informational to guests entering Clarke.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-answer the phone and transfer calls
-direct visitors on campus
-greet visitors to Clarke
-Have a positive attitude, be dependable and have great customer service skills.
-Be at least in your sophomore year of college here at Clarke.
-Be available and flexible with your schedule. Be able to work 11 hours per week.
-Must be able to hold a conversation, tell a story and love Clarke.
