Teaching Philosophy
I teach in multiple modalities, including lecture, diagrams, whiteboard examples, videos, and other active learning. Students participate in and sometimes lead our discussions toward applying concepts we are learning. We review with games like Kahoot and Jeopardy to help identify and remember the key points. Those main learning objectives are what I assess. I believe in a growth mindset—I want students to challenge themselves to learn and not focus so much on performance that they avoid hard classes.
