Senior Spotlight: Sara T.
By Jazz Daughtrey ’27, Marketing Intern
A love for animals led Sara to believe she’d become a veterinarian, but when a child called her “teacher” during a horse-riding lesson, something clicked. Starting Clarke’s Education program confirmed her passion for learning and helping others, and she’s added a major in Art and a Special Education endorsement to her studies. Growth doesn’t just happen in the classroom, either – Sara has gotten involved with the Clarke Activities Board and is the President of the Ceramics Club on campus. She and a group of friends even launched a new organization, the Cast & Crew Club, writing and staging their own theatre productions, as well as one-acts and dramatic readings.
After graduation, Sara plans to teach locally and stay involved in the arts community. Reflecting on her experience, her advice to upcoming students is to always keep an open mind. “I have come a long way from that high school senior who wasn’t quite sure what she wanted to do. Clarke has opened my eyes in a lot of ways. I am more aware of how I treat and approach others, and even what I need to be successful. I am very proud of my personal growth.”
