Clarke Hosts Dance Marathon Event on April 18

The Clarke University Dance Marathon student organization will host its annual big event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1–8 p.m. in the Kehl Center. The event is free and open to the public, with any and all donations going to support the children and families being treated at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. 

This year’s theme, Superheroes, promises a day of high-energy fun, community connection, and meaningful impact. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and come ready to dance.  

As part of the event, attendees can also enjoy: 

• Bounce houses, including an obstacle course and knockout challenge  

• Craft stations and superhero-themed games  

• “Minute to Win It” competitions  

• Glow-in-the-dark Zumba  

• Raffle baskets 

Several of the families sponsored by the Clarke University Dance Marathon will be on site to share their stories and honor the impact the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital has had on their lives.  

“This event is more than just a celebration—it’s an opportunity for our campus community to come together in support of incredible children and families,” said Dance Marathon club president Kelsey NeCollins. “Having sponsored families join us makes the experience especially meaningful, allowing us to build connections and create a welcoming, family-centered environment.” 

While the big event is the highlight for Dance Marathon, the student organization hosts events throughout the year to drive fundraising for the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Upcoming events include a Pancheros Share Night Wednesday, April 8 from 4–8 p.m., a Stacks for Stead Pancake Breakfast on April 12, and an Intramural Volleyball Tournament on April 13.
