Purpose – Mission of work
I love Clarke and I’m deeply connected to its mission and values especially those that are grounded in the BVM core values of Freedom, Education, Charity, and Justice. The culture of collaboration, caring, and inclusivity drew me to Clarke 15 years ago. Through countless interactions and observations I’ve grown to better understand and appreciate the impact these values have on the entire community. Put simply, helping others is core to a life well lived.
I have been happily employed at Clarke University for 15 years. I started as a Technology Integration Specialist where I found a passion for teaching and learning with technology. In 2006 I was promoted to Executive Director of Academic Technology, overseeing the Library, Learning Centers, Technology and Instructional Design center, and the Audio Visual department. In this role, I transitioned from a hands-on, first line support specialist into (eventually) a competent supervisor and leader. I loved the role, the people, and our support-centered mission in academic technology. In April of 2015 I started a new journey of learning as the Assistant Dean to Academic Affairs and Instruction Support.
Hobbies – interests – volunteer work
My true passion is being the best husband and father I can be. In my spare time I try to keep the house from falling in on itself and occasionally make tech support house calls to BVMs in need.
