Teaching Philosophy

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.” This wisdom serves as a mantra that I apply diligently in my role as an educator. I believe that Psychology is happening all around us, and I work feverishly to give students the kinds of epiphanies that will help them to better understand themselves, better understand those around them, and ultimately, impact positive change in the world. I take an active learning approach with my teaching, using a combination of discussion topics, debates, experiential activities, written assignments, exams, oral presentations, and community service to aid in students’ holistic development.
