Teaching Philosophy

I am committed to working with students in a facilitator role. I enjoy working as the “guide on the side” and witnessing discovery and growth among my students. I believe the most powerful learning happens when students are engaged in active learning.

Professional Background

I have been an educator for 20+ years within the K-12 school system. During that time, I have served as a special education teacher, special education consultant, and special education administrator.

I enjoy working with my family’s non-profit, Conway Caring Community providing literature kits, greeting cards, and other services in an effort to share compassion. www.conwaycaringcommunity.com, https://www.facebook.com/ConwayCaring Additionally, I enjoy spending time reading, scrapbooking, and attending my children’s sporting, musical and extra-curricular events.
