Musical Drama ‘Under Milk Wood’ on Clarke’s Stage April 27-30

The Clarke Drama and Musical Theatre Department will present Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas April 27-30 in Terence Donaghoe Hall on the campus of Clarke University.

In Under Milk Wood, an omniscient narrator invites the audience to listen to the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of the fictional small Welsh fishing village of Llareggub. The featured Llareggub residents include Mrs. Ogmore-Pritchard, relentlessly nagging her two dead husbands; Captain Cat, reliving his seafaring times; Organ Morgan, obsessed with his music; and Polly Garter, pining for her dead lover. The town eventually awakens and aware now of how their feelings affect whatever they do, the audience watches the town residents go about their daily business.

Under Milk Wood is directed by Carol Blitgen, BVM, Professor Emeritus of Drama at Clarke University.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29; 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 30. Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, and $5 for non-Clarke students.
