Kipperton String Quartet to Perform at Clarke

The Kipperton String Quartet brings its unique brand of chamber music to Clarke University at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, in Jansen Music Hall. Admission is free.

The Kipperton String Quartet is a local string group that includes four Dubuque Symphony Orchestra members: violinists Tim Kamps and Wes Luke, violist Paul Alan Price-Brenner, and cellist Kevin Price-Brenner.

Kamps began playing violin at the age of 4, taking lessons at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He plays associate concertmaster for the Dubuque Symphony and also plays with the Madison Symphony and Wisconsin Chamber orchestras. 

Luke started violin lessons at 3 years of age while living in Dubuque. He plays principal 2nd violin in the Dubuque Symphony and concertmaster in the La Crosse Symphony

Luke also plays in the Madison Symphony Orchestra.

Price-Brenner plays viola in the Dubuque and La Crosse symphony orchestras. He started playing violin in third grade in Brookfield, Wis.

Kevin Price-Brenner plays principal cello for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and also plays with the Quad City and Waterloo-Cedar Falls orchestras. He began playing violin in the fifth grade in the Oklahoma City Public Schools and switched to cello in the next year.
