Honor Jazz Band Festival To Be Held At Clarke

Clarke University is proud to offer the 23 annual Honor Jazz Band Festival for area high school students, .

Local music students will work with an incredible jazz saxophonist and jazz teacher/composer – Chris Madsen. A

Marsalis has been quoted as saying, “

I’d rather listen to (Madsen) than most other players out there right now.”

Students selected for this event include:

Dubuque Senior – Melissa Olivares, Eli Gregorich, Justin Nowack, Macy Schmidt, Eric Blum; Dubuque Hempstead – Emma Fassbinder; Cascade – Austin Sanders, Gabrielle Foust-Wollenberg; Western Dubuque – Chris Bramel, Blake Marsh, Colin Schumacher.

Students rehearse all day with Madsen before putting on a performance for the public.
