Clarke Receives Alliant Energy Grant
Clarke College was recently awarded a $3,000 grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation Board of Directors to fund Clarke’s SMART (Students Making Analytical use of Ready Technology) project. The new project brings state-of-the art technology into the classroom and increases participatory learning.
The virtual lab funded by the grant will be available to Clarke students and will provide simulation of experiments and innovative teaching techniques through the lab’s new computer system, projection system and lab simulation software.
The SMART project will benefit students in Clarke’s biology, chemistry, pre-service elementary education, nursing, physical therapy, athletic training, bioinformatics, and TimeSaver programs.
The Alliant Energy Foundation is a charitable, non-profit independent, philanthropic foundation established and funded solely by the Alliant Energy Corporation and has contributed over $17.5 million to projects and organizations since 1998.
