Meet Our Faculty

When our graduates speak about the Clarke moments that helped shape them, there’s always a professor in the story. That’s because being a faculty member at Clarke University requires a deep passion for educating, encouraging, and empowering students. Here, your professors will know you by your first name. They will push you to develop your full potential, and then they’ll ask for more. And, they’ll be right there to congratulate you when you exceed even your own expectations. Jan Lee, PhD

Professor of Nursing; Chair, Department of Nursing and Health

I hope that I influence students to consider the importance of context in people’s lives and their health/illness stage and advocate for people’s individual spiritual practices.

Ann Davidshofer, MSN

I want the students to enjoy the process of learning. Too often the focus is on objectives and outcomes instead of the journey towards a goal. Students will be successful in and out of the classroom when they embrace all that Clarke has to offer.

Renee Pilcher, PhD

Renee Pilcher, PhD

Assistant Professor of Nursing and Health Undergraduate Coordinator of Nursing

My teaching philosophy is grounded within my background in clinical practice and the concept of caring. I believe that the relationships we form are expressed through concern for the welfare of others.

Lisa Rettenmeier, EdD

Lisa Rettenmeier, EdD

Associate Professor of Nursing

I believe that it is imperative that we utilize strong leadership characteristics as nurses, to care for individuals who cannot care for themselves. Nursing is about caring for the whole person, the body, mind, and spirit.
