Professional nursing is the process of establishing caring relationships with individuals, families and communities for the purpose of promoting, maintaining and restoring holistic health.
According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), research shows that a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree provides the following:
- Better patient outcomes, including lower mortality rates.
- Higher proficiency in making accurate diagnoses.
- A strong foundation for future specialties.
- A richer understanding of the social, cultural, political and economic aspects that impact patients and influence health care systems services.
