I want to honor each student right where they are and help them move forward in
their development as a person. One way I do this is through discovery. Learning
through discovery is the essence of meaningful retention and understanding of
Clarke’s impact on Ellen:
Clarke’s greatest impact on me has been the feeling of being a part of a family
when I am at work. The caring and cohesiveness of my colleagues is amazing.
Ellen’s impact on students:
As an instructor, I spend a lot of time teaching undergraduate and graduate
students by giving them the gift of constructivism through modeling as a way of
“preparing to learn” instead of having a “plan to teach.” I want my students to
be excited about learning in the hope that they will pass on this excitement to
their future students.
