Professional experience: Associate Professor of Education Clarke University, 1996–present.

Teaching philosophy: My philosophy of education relies on the constructivist learning theory. Constructivism is a learning theory based on how the brain processes information. One learns by “constructing” knowledge through the information processing strategies of the mind. Students’ learning is deepened through use of multimedia technology tools. These tools stimulate new pathways in the brain to optimize learning.

Constructivist pedagogy engages students in exploring, discovering and constructing knowledge within a collaborative learning environment. Students learn together to solve real world problems. The teacher guides learning processes within an environment empowering students to expand, share and build new knowledge.
