Why did you choose Clarke?
I chose Clarke because of the basketball team and the academic opportunities. Clarke has great athletic training and physical therapy programs. I knew the small class sizes would make it easier to balance sports and school.
Do you play a sport or do you support Crusader athletics? What makes it fun?
The basketball team is a fun group. I love my team because we all get along so well and hang out off the court. On the court, we come together as one unit and work hard to improve.
Of the other activities you are involved with, how have they added to your college experience?
As an RA, I am able to get to know many residents very well. I love the relationships I have with my residents and I would not trade it for anything.
Did you receive financial aid? If so, how did it help you?
Financial aid is a huge help to pay off school. The cost of education can seem overwhelming, but there are many scholarship and financial aid opportunities that help me afford it.
What do you enjoy about campus?
My favorite part of campus is how the buildings on each side of the street are connected. I consider it a luxury to be able to walk inside to class during winter to avoid the cold.
What do you like about Dubuque?
I love that Dubuque is a safe community with plenty of opportunity. Dubuque has a great economy that results in low housing costs and job opportunities.
Do any faculty/staff members stand out? If so, why?
Anna Kelley is probably my favorite professor. She ensures that each student makes progress. No matter how many times I go to Anna for help or advice, she always makes a positive impact on my day.
So far, what has been your most memorable Clarke experience?
My most memorable Clarke experience is the great relationships I built with various students. Students at Clarke are well rounded, and that makes it easy to build friendships.
If you had the chance to tell a prospective student one GREAT thing about Clarke, what would it be?
The small class sizes and helpful professors make a huge impact on learning. The professors are invested into your professional and academic growth. The student-professor relationships are irreplaceable.
