Clarke Presents Children's Musical 'A Year with Frog and Toad,' Nov. 16-19

The Clarke University Drama Department will present the children’s musical “A Year with Frog and Toad” from Thursday, Nov. 16, through Sunday, Nov. 19, in Terence Donaghoe Hall on the Clarke campus. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.

This 2004 Tony-nominated musical for children of all age’s swings with jazzy 1930s-style music, chronicling the adventures and friendship of the jolly and popular Frog and the rather grouchy Toad through the changing seasons of the year. “A Year with Frog and Toad” is based on the books by Arnold Lobel, with music by Robert Reale and the book and lyrics by Willie Reale.

Cast members for the production include: Colin Muenster, of Davenport, Iowa; Mike Link, of Sherrill, Iowa; Melissa Dahle, of Watertown, SD; Valerie Heitzman, of Dubuque, Iowa; Brigid Kelley, of Davenport, Iowa; Abby Schultz, of Dubuque, Iowa; Erin Kane, of Dubuque, Iowa; Elizabeth Spoerl, of Sherrill, Iowa; and Annie Williams, of Des Moines, Iowa.

Clarke Assistant Professor of Drama/Speech Joseph Klinebriel will direct the show and Allison Padley of Marion, Iowa, will serve as the assistant to the director and stage manager of the performance.
