Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. Translation: Thank you, Mr. Robot. That’s what teams of local high school students paired with Clarke College computer science students hope to be saying at the College’s fourth annual Robotics Contest on Friday, Jan. 27.
The Clarke College Computer Science Department and the Clarke Robotics Club will host the contest at 6 p.m. in the Atrium Conference Room on the Clarke campus. Teams consisting of high school students will control robots they built and programmed through a variety of competitive tasks. Two students will each receive $500 scholarships to Clarke.
Clarke Assistant Professor of Computer Science George Towfic and Clarke computer science students have worked throughout the semester with students from Guttenberg High School, Hempstead High School and Senior High School to create and program the robots.
