We know you have questions regarding the event. Below is a list of frequently asked questions that we know you are dying to know!
Q: Do I stay overnight?
A: Clarke will provide overnight accommodations and meals for all students (including local-area students). Students will be assigned rooms in our residence halls and a roommate. Clarke will provide beds, but you should plan to bring either sheets, blankets, and pillows, or a sleeping bag and a pillow.
Q: Can I bring a friend with me?
A: All students may bring up to 2 adult guests, but any students in high school must be admitted to Clarke University to attend the weekend. If your friend wants to come to Clarke, tell them to apply for admission!
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: Pease bring the following for your stay on campus:
Casual clothes for the weekend (including a fleece or sweatshirt—you’ll be all over campus and may get cold!)
Q: Do I bring my overnight items into the check-in location with me?
- You will receive a t-shirt at check-in and be asked to wear this for Saturday.
- Sleeping bag or Sheets/blankets, and a pillow
- Bath Towel and Personal Toiletries
- Spending money for the bookstore (you’ll get 10% off for being a participant at Admitted Students Weekend!)
A: YES!, We will take you straight from check-in to your room. Please bring all your items from your car when you come inside to check-in.
Q: What do we wear Saturday?
A: You will receive your t-shirt at check-in, and will be asked to change into before starting Saturday’s activities. Please bring a zip up or fleece in case you get cold.
Q: What if I get sick at ASW?
A: There is a health form required to be turned in at or before check-in. We have highly trained resident assistants and directors that will be available to provide assistance should you require it. Print the form here
Q: What if something came up between the time I RSVP’d and now and I can’t attend ASW for the whole time or at all?
A: We would appreciate being notified as soon as you know that you are no longer able to attend so that your spot can be re-filled. Participants must attend the entire weekend in order to be eligible for the scholarships.
Q: What time will everything be done on Sunday afternoon?
A: The afternoon will conclude at 1:30pm after the banquet.
Q: Can my parents come with me?
A: YES! We highly encourage parents to come with for the weekend (or attend portions of the day for local families). We have sessions throughout the day planned for parents and students, and though none are required, we do highly recommend they join us for the weekend as well.
Q: I am planning on riding the Bus from the Chicago area on the second Admitted Students Weekend. Do I need to do anything to let you know?
A: Please make sure to mark this on your RSVP form, or if you already signed up, please notify Admissions as soon as possible so we know to expect you, and be sure to include your preferred pick up/drop off location (either Schaumburg or Oak Brook). Please note: this option is only available for the weekend during February 18-19.
