2014 Scholarship Recipients

The students listed below are recipients of 2014 Golf Classic Scholarships.

Nick Anderson

Nick Anderson, Clinton, Iowa 

Nick Anderson, graduate of Northeast High School, is the son of Jeffrey and Laurie Anderson of Clinton, Iowa. While in high school, he was a three-sport athlete and member of the Spanish club and National Honor Society. Additionally, he was a four-year recipient of the IHSAA Excellence in Academics Award. He will major in athletic training/pre-physical therapy and be a member of the track team at Clarke.

Josh Beck

Josh Beck, Platteville, Wisconsin

Josh Beck, graduate of Platteville High School, is the son of Tricia Beck of Platteville, Wisc. He is a life-long golfer – both player and coach – and on a youth bowling league. Also, he earned the Kohl Initiative Scholarship. While at Clarke, he will major in secondary education and be a member of the golf team.

Trent Bollman

Trent Bollman, Maquoketa, Iowa 

Trent Bollman, graduate of Maquoketa High School, is the son of Patrick and Kathy Bollman of Maquoketa, Iowa. While in high school, he was a four-sport athlete, was named a Telegraph Herald Athlete of the Week for baseball and selected to the TH All-Area 1st Team. Additionally, Trent was a member of the choir and president of the Business Professionals of America. He will major in sport management and be a member of the baseball team at Clarke.

Grace Friederick

Grace Friederick, Potosi, Wisconsin 

Grace Friederick, graduate of Potosi High School, is the daughter of Russ and Arlene Friederick of Potosi, Wisc. She was a member of the choir and pep band and a participant in school musicals. Grace also was involved in many clubs including Spanish, forensics, Leo and National Honors Society as well as an officer in the environmental club, and Relay for Life. While at Clarke, she will major in biology/physical-therapy.

Crystal Haynes

 Crystal Haynes, Dubuque, Iowa

Crystal Haynes, graduate of Wahlert Catholic High School, is the daughter of Dave and Becky Haynes of Dubuque, Iowa. She worked many jobs while in high school including in the nursery at Grandview United Methodist Church. In her free time, she participates in the dragon boat races. Crystal will major in nursing while at Clarke.

Megan Kane

Megan Kane, Dubuque, Iowa

Megan Kane, graduate of Wahlert Catholic High School, is the daughter of Brian and Kathleen Kane of Dubuque, Iowa. While in high school, she was a member of the choir and participant in school drama productions. Additionally, Megan was also a member of the National Honor Society and student ambassadors as well as an active member of Resurrection Parish. She will major in communication at Clarke. Megan’s sister, Erin Callahan, is a Clarke grad.

Allison Kilburg

Allison Kilburg, Bellevue, Iowa

Allison Kilburg, graduate of Bellevue High School, is the daughter of Randall and Christine Kilburg of Bellevue, Iowa. She was both a member and officer in student government, 4-H and Future Business Leaders of America as well as a member of the National Honor Society, envirothon team and the school improvement advisory committee. Allison was a Jackson County Beef Princess and Queen and earned perfect attendance for five years. While at Clarke, she will major in elementary education. Allison’s mother Christine and sister Kaitlin are both Clarke grads.

Laura Naber

Laura Naber, Dyersville, Iowa

Laura Naber, graduate of Beckman Catholic High School, is the daughter of Robert and June Naber of Dyersville, Iowa. While in high school, she was an officer in the National Honor Society and student government. In addition, she was a member of art club, yearbook, ambassador’s club and campus ministry. She will major in secondary education at Clarke. Laura’s brother, Matt, just graduated from Clarke last month.

Haris Takes

 Haris Takes, Cascade, Iowa

Haris Takes, graduate of Cascade High School, is the son of Mike and Kay Takes of Cascade, Iowa. He was a three-sport athlete in high school and was named a Telegraph Herald Athlete of the Week for basketball. Additionally, he was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Students Against Drunk Driving, and the Cougar Character Group. Haris will major in either education or business and be a member of the basketball team at Clarke.

Riley Vorwald

 Riley Vorwald, Dyersville, Iowa

Riley Vorwald, graduate of Beckman Catholic High School, is the son of Amy Vorwald of Dyersville, Iowa. While in high school, he was a two-sport athlete, involved in Kids Against Hunger and the student advisory committee for Beckman Catholic’s state accreditation and was a member of the National Honors Society. He also planned and directed sports camps for St. Francis Xavier Elementary School as well as volunteered for the physical education and maintenance departments at the school. Riley will major in athletic training/pre-physical therapy at Clarke.
