Jan. 21, 2014: The Clarke Dance-A-Thon will be held Friday, Jan. 24, from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center on the Clarke University campus.
The event is a fundraiser for Quench and Connect, an organization founded by Clarke alumnae Kathryn Ely. Quench and Connect (www.quenchandconnect.org) aims to connect with schools in Uganda to improve student achievement by providing clean water and educational tools.
The event is sponsored by Clarke University’s SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere), the Clarke Activities Board, Clarke’s improve troupe Playmakers, and Clarke University Dining Services.
Events include a Playmakers Improv Show at 8 p.m., pancakes from 10 p.m. to midnight, an oxygen bar from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and dancing, inflatable games, kickball, dodgeball, basketball and other games from 9:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.
