Mathematics Department

The Clarke University Mathematics Department provides graduates with a strong foundation in the liberal arts and prepares them for careers in education, law, computer science, business, insurance, government and as actuaries. The flexible curriculum allows students to choose double majors in areas such as drama, music, chemistry, computer science and education.

The mathematics department’s diverse and dedicated faculty implements the most current reform movements and standards. They foster an active learning environment using the ELECT Computer Lab and graphing calculators, stressing conceptual development and problem-solving, encouraging cooperative learning and using integrated labs that employ up-to-date technology. As a result, Clarke math students develop sharp reasoning and problem-solving skills and a keen knowledge and awareness of technology while working in group settings with real-life issues.
