March 28, 2013: Clarke University is pleased to announce that Ken Brown has been appointed the university’s new executive director of marketing and communication. In this position, Brown oversees all aspects of Clarke’s internal and external public relations, marketing messaging and communication. He will start at Clarke on April 15, 2013.
Brown comes to Clarke from the Telegraph Herald in Dubuque, Iowa, where he worked for 16 years, the last 12 as city editor. He has nearly 30 years in the communications industry and has won several awards for his writing. Brown has a BA in journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., and has done graduate work in business at Northern Illinois University.
“We are delighted to have Ken join us,” said President Joanne Burrows, SC, Ph.D. “He brings a comprehensive set of skills and an excellent background in writing that will allow him to effectively share the good news about what is happening at Clarke.”
