The Clarke University History Department has long prepared students for a variety of exciting careers in fields from teaching, government and business, to museum research, journalism and library work. Its diverse curriculum in American, European, Asian and Latin American history has enabled graduates to pursue post-graduate studies and careers in history, as well as in the related fields of law, regional and urban planning, archival science, education and international relations.
Possibly the greatest strength of the history department is its dedicated and caring faculty which is committed to exceptional teaching and insightful advising. A key strength of the department is its student-centered focus and flexibility. To that end, the faculty is well-balanced in terms of expertise. The curriculum provides a broad base from which students — in consultation with their advisers — can build a tailored academic plan that best fits their particular career goals.
