Attention December Candidates

Wednesday, November 18, 2015 - November Recognition Social 5:30-6:30 p.m. - This event is held for students completing degrees in the fall semester in the Jansen Music Hall.  Sr. Joanne Burrows, SC, President will extend a welcome followed by acknowledgement of each candidate by their respective department chair. Please invite your families. A dessert reception will be provided following the recognition. Reservations are required; please respond to Carrie Kirk at 588.6406 or by November 11, 2015


Monday, March 14, 201 – Grad Finale Event 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Student Activity Center – (Not required for December graduates)  The Grad Finale assists students in finalizing their graduation needs, including verification with Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Office. December graduates would have already completed these requirements; however, Grad Finale can be an opportunity to discuss personalized announcements, class rings, diploma frames, etc. with our Herff Jones representative. This year, students will order their cap and gown through the Herff Jones website. The cap and gown expense is part of your graduation fee paid through student accounts. All students pay the fee regardless of participation. A Grad Finale mailing regarding the March 14th event, along with instructions on ordering your cap and gown, will be sent in February to your home address and also to your Clarke email.


Monday, April 20, 2016 – Clarke’s Commencement Legacy Program Application Due - Any student who has a parent, grandparent, sibling or spouse who is a graduate of Clarke University (undergraduate or graduate) is considered to be a legacy. Generations of families have passed on the Clarke education tradition and we want to help celebrate by providing a blue/gold cord to the Legacy Graduates of 2016. Legacy Cords will be provided to the student and a Legacy Button provided for the parent, grandparent, spouse or sibling. These items will be provided to the student at the commencement practice on Friday, May 6th and should be worn on Saturday, May 7th.   If you are a Clarke 2016 graduate (December 2015, May or August 2016) and have a parent, grandparent, sibling or spouse who has graduated from Clarke, please fill out a Legacy Profile Form online (Commencement Information).  Please submit the legacy application by Wednesday, April 20th.


Saturday, May 7, 2016 – Baccalaureate and Commencement Ceremonies - Clarke University has one official commencement ceremony for students completing degrees in December 2015, spring 2016, and summer 2016.  The Baccalaureate Ceremony will be held in the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center at 10 a.m. followed by the Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m.   Students are encouraged to participate in both ceremonies.  Information regarding the day of Commencement will be sent to your Clarke email in the spring.  At that time, we will ask for your participation RSVP to both ceremonies.


Diplomas will be mailed at the end of January to students who have completed graduation requirements for the fall semester. Please keep the Registrar (563-588-6314) and Alumni Office (563-588-8170) informed of any changes in your address and/or email.
