KEYNOTE ADDRESS A Call to Cure, A Call to Care
Jeffrey P. Bishop, MD, Ph.D., Tenent Endowed Chair in Health Care Ethics Director, Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics Saint Louis University
Each individual remembers that moment when he or she is called to a caring profession. It drives and sustains us, but at times it can be forgotten. Dr. Bishop likes to remind people that during the times that we feel "burn-out" and our compassion is failing us, it is important to remember the difference between care and cure. He asks us to remember that moment we first felt called to care.
