The Clarke University Music Department, with musicians from the University of Dubuque, will present a Veterans Day Concert on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Jansen Music Hall on the Clarke campus. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
The concert will feature performances by the Clarke Wind Ensemble and Clarke Collegiate Singers as well as performers from the University of Dubuque. Clarke Assistant Professor of Music Sang-In Han, DMA, will be a featured soloist in a performance of “I’m Going Home Now,” composed by Clarke Instructor of Music David Resnick, MME.
The concert program will include a mix of patriotic tunes and military service songs, as well as the color guard from the American Legion.
Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day, which signaled the end of World War I. In 1984, it was changed to Veterans Day to honor all those serving in the Armed Forces and veterans of all wars.
