The Founders’ Annual Giving Society honors the pioneering BVM sisters’ dedication in providing a quality, progressive education. Society members have demonstrated a similar commitment by supporting Clarke with gifts of $1,000 or more, which enables the University to respond to the highest and most immediate priorities.
Mary Frances Clarke Circle
Recognizing gifts of $10,000 or more
Named for our foundress Mary Frances Clarke, who along with the other founding the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was known for her strong will. Mother Clarke is often described as a woman with an adventurous spirit and a keen mind.
Margaret Mann Circle
Recognizing gifts of $7,500 to $9,999
Named for Sister Margaret Mann, who was best known as a confident administrator with a strong business sense.
Eliza Kelly Circle
Recognizing gifts of $5,000 to $7,499
Named for Sister Eliza Kelly, who was known as a creative, free spirit and lover of the fine arts.
Rose O’Toole Circle
Recognizing gifts of $2,500 to $4,499
Named for Sister Rose O’Toole, who was considered by many to be a humble servant and looked upon as Mary Frances Clarke’s most trusted assistant.
Catherine Byrne Circle
Recognizing gifts of $1,000 to $2,499
Named for Sister Catherine Byrne, who was a dedicated educator and a woman who worked to support those less fortunate.
Young alumni receive full recognition in the Catherine Byrne Circle with support of:
$250 or more – for traditional undergraduate alumni graduating in 2009-2013
$500 or more – for traditional undergraduate alumni graduating in 2004-2008
Founders’ Society members receive custom-minted medallions reflecting Clarke’s iconic traditions and rich history. Members are also recognized at the annual President’s Donor Gala, on the electronic donor honor roll located in the R.C. and Celeste Wahlert Atrium, and in University publications.
