You often see and hear the word impact associated with the Clarke experience. Because we believe that actions speak louder than words, we work hard to share with you throughout the year a wide range of stories that demonstrate Clarke’s – as well as our students’ – impact on the local community and beyond. Now, as Clarke University, we look forward to furthering this impact across the wide spectrum of learners we serve.
In this publication, we are focusing on you – our alumni and friends – to demonstrate your positive impact on Clarke. We have countless loyal supporters whose generous financial gifts and many hours of volunteer time help shape the Clarke experience. These actions, too, speak louder than words – so loudly, in fact, that we sometimes struggle to find just the right words or actions to adequately express our thanks.
In the last year, we have implemented a number of new initiatives to symbolize our gratitude.
- We are re-introducing a print version of the Clarke Honor Roll of Donors that features highlights, facts and figures on the impact of your generosity. This Fiscal Year 2010 honor roll is in addition to the online version that has been available in recent years.
- All acknowledgement letters sent to donors are now personally signed by a Clarke representative.
- The first annual Endowed Scholarship Luncheon was held in April at which donors and student recipients had an opportunity to meet, and donors learned firsthand the impact of their generosity on individual Clarke students. Beginning this summer, donors of endowed scholarship have also received detailed financial reports on the status of their endowed fund.
In subsequent pages, you will learn more about these activities as well as see examples of how the actions of our friends and donors speak louder than words on the Clarke campus and beyond. There have been so many instances of outstanding generosity on behalf of Clarke, it has been difficult to narrow it to just a few, so future publications and the institutional advancement section of the Clarke Web site will continue to feature donor impact stories.
For everything you do for Clarke, we offer you great thanks. We are truly blessed by your generosity.
