Clarke Opens Drama Season with ‘Night Must Fall,’ Oct. 7-10

posted on September 27, 2010

The Clarke University Drama Department will open its 2010-2011 season with “Night Must Fall” by Emlyn Williams from Thursday, Oct. 7, through Sunday Oct. 10 in Terence Donaghoe Hall on the Clarke campus. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 7-9 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 10. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.

In the show the action revolves around the psychopath, Danny, who already has murdered one woman and there is little doubt that he will soon attempt to murder another. How he insinuates himself into the affections of Mrs. Bransom is masterful and terrifying. “Night Must Fall” is a British mystery at its finest.

Cast members for the show include Clarke students: Rebecca Brosnan, of Algona, Iowa; Austin Rea, of Lodi, Wisconsin; Emily Cram, of Clinton, Iowa; Kayla Damisch, of Victor, Iowa; Alison Ott, of Dubuque, Iowa; and Maxwell McNett, of Evansville, Wis. The performance will also feature Clarke Assistant Professor of Drama Joseph Klinebriel and recent Clarke graduate Valerie Heitzman, of Dubuque. “Night Must Fall” is directed by Clarke Professor of Drama Carol Blitgen, BVM, Ph.D.
