Every four years members of the Clarke Collegiate Singers take a 10 day tour abroad following spring finals and graduation. Professors from the music department recognize the value of this experience for their students as an open door into different cultures. Their students become inspired by a new culture, while learning about and speaking the languages they sing in class.
“Tours give students an opportunity to refine their skills, connect with people and experience the trip of a lifetime,” said Manternach.
Collegiate Singer Jessica Lange agrees, "Ireland was a trip of a lifetime. I am glad and thankful that Clarke University gave me the opportunity to travel and see a different part of the world, as well as a different culture,” Lange said, “I feel blessed to have been part of such a wonderful experience that led to me making new friends across the world – friends that I will never forget about."
Traveling on tour once every four years allows students in the program to travel abroad at least once in their college experience. In previous years students in the program have travelled to Ireland, Japan, India, Soviet Union, Poland, Czech Republic and Puerto Rico.
