I was just thinking about you all and how well you prepared me for graduate school. I am still at the University of Iowa, I matriculated from the biosciences program into the anatomy and cell biology department. I joined Dr. Tom Rutkowski's lab who studied the Unfolded Protein Response (UPR) in the Endoplasmic Reticulum. I am using both my Biochemistry and Biology degrees to investigate the effects of environmental factors on the UPR and a possible link to neurodegeneration. I am currently looking at epigenetic changes as a result of the UPR.
