The Clarke College Arts at Clarke Series and the Clarke College Music Department will present “For a Blessed Christmas” on Saturday, Dec. 6, and Sunday, Dec. 7, in Sacred Heart Chapel on the Clarke campus. The Saturday performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., the Sunday performance will begin at 2 p.m.
Admission is $10 and tickets can be reserved by calling (563)584-8642 weekdays between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
In this annual holiday performance, the musicians of Clarke College portray the Christmas story through an exciting mix of narration and musical performances.
This year’s concert will feature guest soloist Frank McClain, a 1984 Clarke graduate, who currently serves as resident stage director for the Orlando Opera Company and is a frequent performer with the group.
As an actor, McClain has appeared in the Wanzie/Charron musicals “Lizzy” and “Living on the Edge,” as well as Wanzie’s “Ladies of Eola Heights Part 3, Court Ordered Therapy.” His most recent stage credits include the title character in the Orlando International Fringe Festival hits “Mr. Charles Currently of Palm Beach” and Howard Crabtree’s “When Pigs Fly;” and with the Orlando Opera as the Sergeant in “Pirates of Penzance” and Dr. Pangloss in “Candide.” Directing credits include guest director at the College of Central Florida of the play “Il Trovatore,” as well as “The Marriage of Figaro,” “Candide,” “The Elixir of Love,” and “The Marriage of Figaro,” all for the Orlando Opera.
