Clarke College is pleased to announce that Elena Winter, a student in Clarke’s TimeSaver Adult Degree Program, was recently awarded the Alliant Energy/Erroll B. Davis, Jr. Minority Achievement Award for 2008. The award of over $3,000 will go to Winter following her graduation in May.
Winter, a senior business administration major from Dubuque, Iowa, attends College full-time and serves as the non-traditional student representative on the Educational Policy Committee at Clarke. She received the award based on her academic achievement, involvement in current campus and community activities, and a personal statement.
Each year, the Iowa College Foundation (ICF) awards one cash award on Alliant Energy’s behalf to a student from a selected College from the ICF membership, this year being Clarke College. To qualify for the award, a student must be of a specific minority group pursuing a degree in engineering, business administration or economics.
