The Clarke College Music Department will present the musical “Side by Side by Sondheim” from Friday, Jan. 25, through Sunday, Jan. 27, in Jansen Music Hall on the Clarke campus. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.
This tribute to the music of Stephen Sondheim includes favorite tunes such as “Comedy Tonight,” “Send in the Clowns,” and “Anyone Can Whistle.”
Student cast members include: Eric Boldger, of Walworth, Wis.; Kelsey Kuepers, of Hazel Green, Wis.; Drew Manternach, of Cascade, Iowa; Regina Neenan, of Hazel Green, Wis; Emily Nelson, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Annie Williams, of Des Moines, Iowa. Mike Link, a 2007 Clarke graduate, also performs in the show.
Jill Klinebriel, Clarke’s music librarian and accompanist, is the director and musical director of the show. Clarke student Jolene Green, of Dubuque, Iowa, is the stage manager; Clarke student Abby Schultz, of Dubuque, Iowa, is the choreographer; and Brandon Pape, a graduate of Wahlert High School currently studying at Loyola College in Chicago, is the scenic and lighting designer. Nancy Lease, Clarke assistant professor of music, and Terry Dillon, of Platteville, Wis., are the accompanists for the show.
