Search Tips
- Use a
question mark (?) to find variant endings of a word.
- You don't need to
use capital letters when searching the Clarke Catalog.
- Remember to
select
a connector (AND, OR, or NOT). For the most specific results you'll want to leave
this as AND.
- Choose from
limiting options such as publication date or sorting options
such as alphabetizing your results to
further customize your search.
- **Hint:
Click on
the help button on the catalog search screen for more

READY TO SEARCH . . .
Let's say
you're part of a small group doing a presentation for a class
that's talking about diversity and multicultural issues.
Specifically, you are supposed to describe a diversity issue and
show how it might be approached in a classroom situation. You
realize that just using keywords like diversity or multiculturalism
will be too broad. To see if we have any books about this in
the Clarke library. your group has chosen these keywords to
hopefully produce a more focused search: (diversity
or multiculturalism) and
classroom. **Hint:
Use parentheses ( ) to group terms to be searched first.
On the next
page, you will search for this topic using the Clarke Catalog's
Power Search.
