Article Index

A Periodical Database

Periodical databases, (also called periodical indexes or article indexes), include the citations of articles in magazines, journals and newspapers.

Some periodical databases and indexes contain abstracts or brief summaries of the articles. An increasing number contain the full text or entire content of articles as they originally appeared in the periodical.

The Clarke Library purchases periodical databases and makes them accessible from the library Web site. The library also owns print indexes that are good for researching older materials.
