What was the craziest thing you've witnessed while at Clarke
When I was an adjunct faculty leaving around 10:30 p.m., I encountered an escaped
salamander on the ground floor of CBH. Trying to herd and coral the scampering critter into a corner with my book bag so that I could locate a container would have made a funny YouTube video.  Read more...

Clarke Named Tree Campus for Third Straight Year 

The National Arbor Day Foundation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources - Forestry Bureau announced that Clarke University has received the 2013 Tree Campus USA award for a third year in a row. Read More...


Education Faculty Visits Uganda 
Cathy Stierman and Paula Schmidt, of Clarke's Education Department, found a recent trip to Uganda to be life-changing. They hope the trip will lead to big changes for Clarke as well. Cathy and Paula headed for Uganda in an attempt to establish a relationship between Clarke and schools in the African nation, a relationship that would benefit both parties.  

Video of "What Happens When Your World Catches Fire?" Now Available for Viewing 

A distinguished panel discussed the 1984 fire at Clarke University and its aftermath at the Mackin-Mailander Alumni Lecture on Tuesday, April 22. The panel included President Emerita Catherine Dunn, Professor of Art Louise Kames, Professor of Philosophy Norm Freund, and former BVM President Mary Ann Zollmann.

Summer Academies 

Clarke University is proud to host summer academies and camps for middle school and high school aged students during the month of June.  Our academies and camps will be hosted on the campus of Clarke University and will be directed by Clarke University faculty, staff and alumni. Topics include food science, computer science and music. Clarke Alumni can refer a friend to Graduate and Timesaver programs and receive a $50 gift certificate to the Whitlow Campus Store. Just make sure the prospective student includes your name on their Clarke application. Also, let them know about the next Timesaver open house Saturday, May 31, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Wahlert Atrium on the Clarke campus.
